I reside in the west Tennessee area and have been smoking meat and cooking for several years. I'm in my 50's and have been shown that an old dog can learn new tricks if you will open your mind. I have competed in some local stuff as support staff and have owned a Yoder Smoker on a pull behind for a few years. I have just used a pellet for the first time and was impressed. They hooked it up to a PHONE of all things! I just figured out how to take a picture on my phone. Progress they say. Well, just saying HEY. Any advice I will be paying attention too.

Welcome to SMF Leadership69!  Glad you are here and willing to learn something new.  This is a great place for ideas and techniques.  Nice job with the phone too.  How did we ever live without them?

Have fun!

Thanks Gary. I have enjoyed what I have seen so far. Your brisket and ribs look pretty good from over here. Looking forward to learning some new tricks. My kid's are going to take some pic's for me and help me post something.

Thanks Ray. Let me make myself understood on the phone thing. I was just a ''witness'' to it. I had never seen it before. I overheard it was  an app that worked the temp on the pellet smoker. I'm old school, cook on a re-bar pit all night long. Red oak slabs on the barrel for coals. I am looking into these pellet things because I was impressed with the ease of use, and the flavor of the meat was excellent. Looking forward to learning. Chuck

I am usually around if you have any questions.  Main thing is keep it Simple, keep it Fun.  Don't over think or get caught up in too much technical stuff
