Hi, I'm Karl from the KC metro area.  Been running a Landman Smoky Mountain for 5+ years now, and had a lot of fun with it.  Followed the forum and Jeff's newsletter, even pulled off some of his meals at home with rave reviews.

My friend is moving, and had an old Brinkmann smoker that he was gifted at one point - he didn't want to move it so he gave it to me.  This is a beast, a cast iron offset smoker with some surface rust and missing a thermometer but otherwise in good shape - what could go wrong with this tank, after all??

All I know for sure is the nameplate shows Brinkmann Smokers - Serial # 50167.  I'll be playing with it when I have time to get a feel for it, the only smoker I've ever run is the Smoky Mountain, so a whole different world.

The BBQ store guy took a look at the photo and guessed it was made in Oklahoma, so that would be 2000 or before, right?  I picked up a thermometer and am looking forward to playing around!
