First Time growing Garlic.

Grew my own garlic for the first time this year. I came out really well. We got 43 bulbs and they are tied and drying now. I will be doing this again for sure.

I have garlic chives, Allium tuberosum, growing as a major nuisance weed in my back gardens. It has the "walking onion" habit. I can harvest the bulbs, harvest the fresh greens, and the bulblets that form out on the stem.

I haven't had much luck growing regular garlic, though.

I grew these separate in their own above ground Garden box so they can not spread any more than I want them to. they had to have a lot of sun.

Got the same problem. Don't use them much for cooking but they are worse than weeds. I pulled them out this year, hopefully next year won't have a lot to deal with. Regular chives on the other hand (which I love and use) doesn't spread.

Unless you let them go to seed, don't ask me how I know this!

Ah, we can all dream. I have never been able to eradicate the stuff. Fortunately I'm a garlic lover so I can ravage the stuff to make something like garlic salt, and never exhaust the resource.
