Oh man tell me my LEM #8 grinder is ok....

I put the blade on the wrong way. It didn't have clearance. It made a horrible noise. Metal shavings everywhere.

Honestly I should have read the instructions but WTF @ LEM. I can't be the first idiot to do this.

I'm worried about rust. The blade looks ok (chipped the back end not the sharp edge). What about the LEM's motor? Bummer guys.

Take it apart and clean it up. how about some pics of the damage.......

Not sure what would have damaged the cutter being on backwards....I think we've all done it at least once. Like Joe said, pics please.

Yeah  Pictures would help   New blade is pretty cheap, But may be OK     They put those instructions in there for a reason, especially if your not familiar with whatever you just bought.

Put it together the correct way and see if it works ??

probably just shaved the rounded edge off the back of the blade. If no motor damage and no stripped gears .wash it all out real well and try the right way

Remember when you run it with the blade backwards, it puts the meat back together.

I don't think that works with LEM. I tried it once with store bought ground meat and instead of a sirloin cut (like it said on the store tag) I got an udder, some tendons and a bunch of fat. I expect better from LEM.
