Hello everyone!!!   After over 30-years of using traditional offset smokers, I recently made the switch to the Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5-inch cooker.  So far..........I love it and it seems to have generated new interest in all things BBQ for me. Smoking meat has always been a part of my life, but for years I was a little lazy and complacent with my cooking with very little experimentation.  Suddenly I have a fresh, new outlook and I am excited about learning and trying some new things, techniques etc.  Thanks for having me.  -M

Thanks Gary.  And yes, it is hot today in my next of the woods also.  I have a week off from work this week and plan to do some meat shopping tomorrow and at least 2 or 3 cooks this week just to have some fun and try a few different things.  -M

I've only been in Mesquite for a couple of years now Gary.  Currently I live in the newest developed section of Mesquite closest to Forney.  Probably won't be here a lot longer though.  We used to live in Wylie and we really miss that part of the DFW area.  We just wanted to cut down on our commutes to work, but................I think we will end up just buying more fuel efficient vehicles and going back to Wylie in the next year or so.  Keep on smokin' my friend!  -M

Wide awake Wylie,  we use to go there to Lavon  to drink beer and party, That was way back in the 60's  wasn't much to Wylie  or Mesquite.

I lived off Bruton Rd not to far from the Mesquite Rodeo  Went to School with Don Gay and his brother Pete.  His Daddy was just getting it going.

It's a nice big place now, Back when it was just getting going it looked completely different.
