Thanks for the help, and the rebate on shipping too. I'm looking forward to trying out the Vortex, and I think it will pay for itself in savings on charcoal. There's just my wife and I to cook for most of the time, and though the egg is really economical on charcoal it still seems silly to light off a whole firebox full for just the 2 of us. Todays smoke is some beautiful wild caught Sockeye Salmon. I've got it drying right now. Yummmmmmmmm!

With the Vortex in a kettle I use briquettes, but like in this cook on a kamado style grill I will use lump in the Vortex.
