I've created a monster! #2 son is doing a brisket! Finished pics now

In another post I told of my 16 year old son wanting a smoker of his own and the ribs he cooked on it after making some pit mods.

Well, I got home from work tonight and he jumped into the truck so we could go get him a brisket to cook. His great grandmother just had double knee replacement, and since a lot of family members will be at her place this weekend, he's doing a brisket for them. We won't be there due to other commitments, but we'll take it to his grandma tomorrow to take out there.

I'll get some finished pics tomorrow, I'm going to bed, HE can babysit his own pit this time! yahoo.gif

Hope it goes well for him.

Good for him!!  That's what's nice about being 16--total confidence that things will turn out great.  If he can pull this off, there will be no end to what he'll want to try. Now all you have to do is get him to join the forum.

Thanks folks! I'm definitely a proud poppa!

Here are the finished pics of his brisket. Moist and very tender.

He sliced the flat, and chopped the point. I think we ate a pound of it before packing it up for his great grandmother and family!

Thanks Gary! I told him that he just got a major compliment from a fellow Texas smoker.

I've been bragging on him all day! yahoo.gif

Hey CB   Let him know I really meant it. I am pretty critical when it comes to Brisket, and his was one of the best I've seen in a while. Good Job ! Must of had a good teacher.

CB  That is one nice looking brisket.  My next smoke will be a brisket (my first) and I can only hope to equal his.
