I'm layed up and have watched like every bbq pit boys episode. You could loose your mind trying to do all their cooks.. It's like a drug for us hooked on smoking. Sorry gotta go. My gator is just about ready to come off the pit..
It's Gooood!!!

Yeah, addiction for sure. Went to the store for some ground chuck and came home with it in addition to some baby backs and pork shoulder country style ribs!

This inspired me! Putting some in the smoker in 15 minutes. Ground chuck with sauteed onion and green pepper, chunks o' pepper jack and cheddar with a covering of mozzarella and cheddar. Actually they're "beer can" versions. Smoking at 270° for 2 hours with cob corn going in for 1 1/2 hours of it. Hoping for the best!

That's awesome, hope ya like em as much as we did ! Let us know how they turned out or hopefully we will see a thread on your cook !

I agree, it'd take some time to get thru all the smokes they have done... This hobby is an addiction for sure, no doubt ! Hope your back at it soon for a little Pitmaster Privilege !

Now that sounds way too familiar, been there several times !

Well, I had mixed results. The corn came out good. The burgers had great flavor and were awesome looking  - but they came out on the dry side. I believe I cooked them too hot - or too long - or too hot and long. ; P.

I think I'll try smaller ones next time (these were 8 oz'ers) and adjust the temp and time down.

Livin' and learnin'!

I was thinking about how easy it would be to cook too hot, too long. Yes maybe adjusting time and temp but you want enough time to allow the smoke to penetrate.

Hmm, well that stinks... Sorry it didn't turn out for ya ! I done these indirect heat for an hour & twenty min. at 300*. They were really juicy & tasted great. If ya have a detailed description of your cook, maybe we can help... Would like ya to enjoy these, they really are great !

Hate to butt in here, but since I always smoke long & low to get plenty of smoke on things, the only time I ever dried anything out was too long---Not too hot.

That just has been my experience though. Also having the door of an electric smoker open too much tends to dry things out, because that's letting humidity out.

Well, I only opened the smoker once to put in the corn. I believe I just cooked the burgers too long.... 2hrs @ 270 or so. They actually reheated pretty well today and were juicier than fresh off the smoker. A learning experience - but I believe a smaller burger and shorter time would be the ticket for us! Lots o' potential there!

here's a picture of the ones I did on the 4th

I went with sautee'd onions and chopped up jalapeno and bell peppers, topped with shredded cheddar

we put ours on buns and smashed em down to be able to take bites, they were awesome!

That is awesome ! These sure are tasty & yours look great ! Nice job ! Thumbs Up

Wow those look amazing Waterinholebrew!! You know, another great thing about that is that my wife and I love burgers but we are both allergic to gluten. I personally dont like the texture of some gluten free buns so this recipe certainly allows us to have the same great taste of a burger with whatever we want on them (in this case IN them lol). Thanks for the recipe, I had forgotten about this. Them BBQ boys always have good stuff. I subscribed to their youtube channel years ago but had not come around to trying this.

Yeah, I saw both videos when they came out. I guess now I'll have to try the shot glass version after I get the pork butts on tomorrow.

Yea, the beer can ones have to be enormous... These shot glass ones were quite big themselves ! Hope ya enjoy em while waiting for your pork butts !
