Hi, all.  I just joined the forum this morning; I found it looking to answer the question "why do you use a bunch of water in the smoker?"  I've never used one, and started smoking meat as a kid on my dad's old Charbroil charcoal grill with a smoker box.  I grew up in Kansas City, but live in Seattle now.  I am on my second Traeger, having started with the original Lil' Tex, and just now getting the larger version this past spring.  The original had the thermostat control, and never gave me any trouble, so I didn't have any issues getting a bigger one.  (I upgraded for both size and the fact that I was tired of repainting the smaller one.)  My new one is both larger and has a powder coat finish on it, so I assume I won't have to paint it every few years.

Oh, and from the comments on Traeger I've seen here, I don't know what some of you are talking about on customer service; they've always been very good to me.

I'm looking forward to seeing what else shows up here.
