Looking to start smoking

Thread Starter
Greetings, so I fell a bit overwhelmed with all the info out there and would love a couple people to just tell me what to get. Have about $200 to start smoking with. Been using a charcoal grill for 25 years, always felt like cas was cheating, but i dont think a wood smoker is the way to go.
ideally, i would would stay close to buget, be able to good consistent results without having to babysit the smoker, checking on it is fine, but some articals make it seem like id have to commit 5 to 8 hours in front of the smoker.
So give me some reccomend models...PLEASE
recipies welcome to. There is nobmeat not loved so bring it

there are quite a few models in the 200 range. i seen a master built electric smoker at lowes recently that would be a kind of set and forget really easy use. I recently just purchased my first electric smoker and I really like it. I have a home built charcoal smoker that I like to use also though for when I feel like pokin at the fire while having a cold one. I also had a propane charbroil smoker that worked good but I didn't like having to constantly exchange tanks of gas

Welcome to the forum!  I love my Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5" model.  I've had it for two years now after a lifetime of charcoal grilling.  Check it out.

Bradley Original Smoker is on sale at Menards for 269 right now. It's an electric bisquette burner and so far in love it.

It burns charcoal, is pretty much set and forget and lots of folks on here have them and can give you the tips that you need. Good luck, Joe
