Smokin' Wings

First attempt at smoking wings. Prepped the smoker and raised the temp up to 350. Didn't brine the wings, I just applied some salt a few hours prior to smoking and then applied a new mix of rub I concocted specifically for chicken about 30 mins before going on to smoke.

While putting the wings on the smoker my temp dropped to ~270 and I let it raise and level out to 285. Smoked for about an hour and a half. Just have pulled the wings so I'll give an update on the taste. No pre-Q pic but I have a post-Q coming up. I'm slacking on my Q-view as of late...

Very pretty.  I usually cook mine  on the mini and for a bit longer.  I like a little darker color and the family loves crispy skin.  Nice job!

I ended up tossing them in the oven for about 25 more mins.  No harm no foul though, still got the excellent smoke flavor.  Went with apple chips on these, yet I wish I had used the pecan chunks I picked up yesterday.

no shame in that brother. I've finished plenty of smokes in the oven!
