New smoker from the dry side of WA state

I have been wanting to get into smoking for a few years. I was looking at getting something like a little chief electric smoker but was just given an ECB for my birthday so this will be my weapon to get into smoking with. I have always prefered charcoal grilling and have never owned a gas grill so I am perfectly happy with the charcoal smoker. I have already added a real thermometer to the lid and will be adding more mods to make this thing as functional as I can.

I have smoked some fish on my charcoal grill before and look forward to using this ECB. Going to start easy tomorrow with some chicken breats, since we have them. It will be a basic brine then a rub I already have. I will be doing either a brisket or butt for Father's day.

This should be a fun adventure!
