Hey all. Just got a new Bluetooth MES 40 smoker. Trying to figure about how often I need to be replacing the chips to keep the smoke going at a constant pace. I add the chips dry rather than bothering with soaking. What do you all see on average? 30 minutes seems too soon and an hour seems too long. Seeing the same?

I used to add chips when the smoke stopped, which was usually about halfway between having smoke that was much too thick.

However for the last 5 years I haven't put any chips or chunks in my MES 40.

I just fill up my AMNPS, and get it going good. Then I put it in my smoker and sit back & enjoy up to 11 hours of Perfect, constant, consistent Smoke without touching it.

Here it is:
