Copperas Cove, Texas
Good morning, well a bit about myself. Name is Chris Pollock, I'm from Copperas Cove, Texas, 66yrs young. I've been married for 45yrs this November. My wife is the real 'BBQ Queen' in our household. I bought her a new Ok Joe's Highlander smoker a few months ago and have been looking for a place where I can get information on the mods I need to do to make it better for her and I believe I've found it.  I served 22yrs in the Army - '68 - '90 - Vietnam Vet. After retiring from the Army I worked an additional 23yrs for various contractors on the tank ranges at Ft. Hood, Tx and retired from there in June of 2013. My hobbies include reading, collecting antique and vintage glass such as Early American Pattern Glass, Depression Glass and American Brilliant glass. Currently have three cabinets full of it plus another 2 or 3 cabinets worth just lying around in various places. Also I really enjoy gardening, I've a greenhouse in my backyard which really saved a lot of my plants from last winters cold weather.

Welcome, to the Forum  From a wet East Texas, How are you faring with all the rain ?

Gary

Welcome to the board, Chris! Yes, this is the place for information - use the Search to look up your smoker and see what people do with them.

As it happens, my brother-in-law is also Chris Pollock.

Thanks Gary, we're not doing too bad here. So far the rain has mostly been able to soak into the ground since it's been so dry. Hopefully it will stop the tree roots from coming out of the ground as they have been. We lucked out the other day with the tornado that hit Pidcoke, it missed us by about 9 miles.

Thanks BlueWhisper, I've found a lot of info here already and have questions to ask already.  What a coincidence about your BIL, I don't see that too often.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.
David
