Good morning all.  Brand new to the site, and soon to be brand new to smokin'.

My name is Allen and I live in Trenton, Ontario.  I grill year round from +30° to -30°C and everywhere in between on my trusty little Weber Genesis.  It is starting to get some hot spots, so I thought about getting rid of it, but it's faithfully served me for 10+ years, so I may just treat it to new burners.

I am still researching what kind of smoker I want to get and seem to flip flop quite a bit. I like the idea of trying a vertical water smoker to start with, as I can pick one up for not a lot.  I think it would be a good learning tool, as I can't just set and forget.  I've also thought about getting a Weber Kettle grill (I've always wanted one) and trying some techniques I've seen here in the forum.

Whatever happens, I'm happy to be here and I look forward to learning lots from you all.

Allen, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here and a year-round griller, which says a LOT where you live.

Enjoy the process of finding that perfect piece of smoking equipment (Weber).  No matter what you choose (Weber) there will always be fans of the equipment here (Weber) and plenty of folks (Weber) who use the equipment you buy (Weber).  We really don't like to influence that purchase choice (Weber) but sometimes we just can't help ourselves (Weber).

Have a ball shopping Weber, uh, I mean Allen.  You'll be happy with whatever Weber, uh, equipment you choose!

Welcome to SMF from NC! :welcome:
We're glad to have you. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here [emoji]128513[/emoji])
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it.
Thanks for joining,
- Ryan
