Amateur Smoker - Looking to step it up

Thread Starter

I am a Texan that lives in the Dallas Metroplex.  My father was a great smoker.  Had a custom smoker made by my uncle.  I have worked with a small barrel smoke with fire box, but I am ready to step up my game.  I am looking to build my own reverse flow smoker here in the next month.  From there I want to elevate my game to the neighborhood legend.

Growing up my dad would spend an entire day smoking whatever meat he could get his hands on.  He fed all of the neighborhood and made a good name for himself.  I am looking to replicate those memories for my children.

I am glad I ran across this forum and look forward to using it as a tool to make all the mouths on our street water.

Welcome to SMF from NC! welcome.gif
We're glad to have you. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here 😁)
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it.
Thanks for joining,
- Ryan
