Hello & thanks for having such a great place to share and learn.
My name is Troy, I'm a temporarily retired 47 year young guy from Tennessee. I've been married to the woman I love , happily for 20 years.
I started smoking on my grill. Just a cheap 30 something $ job from Wally World. I've smoked butts & hams primarily and that isn't easy to do on a 18" square grill so yesterday I upgraded to a Oklahoma Joes Longhorn smoker. I seasoned it up last night , finished up around 12:30 am. I upgraded mainly because later today I have quite a few people coming over to observe Memorial Day. I say observe because we don't celebrate it. It's a bitter day for our family. We lost our youngest son , a decorated Marine 1 year ago on Memorial Day. Anyway , I plan to smoke some sausage, boudin , brats, chicken , stuffed onions & grill some burgers and dogs. You can see I really needed the room to pull this off. I'll be sure to post pics if I can figure out the right area to do so. Thanks again for the forum , I hop to learn a lot from y'all.
