Just bought a masterbuilt 40"electric smoker,very excited about getting some great tips from you all

Welcome to the board, b! This place is full of helpful people, First, use the Search to look up your model of smoker and see what people do with them. Then ask away! Or, just ask away in general, petty much everyone here does that.

Hey,y'all,I'm smoking 2 Boston butts,my concern is the grease dripping down on tha heating element an catching fire,should i be concerned??

I'm not running electric so I don't know much about them, but I'm sure there should be some kind of drip pan or tray, and fat should not be able to hit the element.

 

Those pan drippings can be the base of a sauce.
