I've tried it with chicken, which is really good! I have to dig out some beef from the freezer...

Great looking steaks b-one!

Thanks, the dust was really great on them I'm sure you will be happy as well! My next plan for it is a R/S Tri tip!

I have yet to find anything I don't like it on. Even gives normal canned beans a nice twist!

I'd even go as far as saying it would make a great chips flavor!

I believe that its good, but it also contains monosodium glutamate and few other incridients that i wouldnt like to have on my steak.

MSG is in the Tatonka Dust seasoning and is a sub-ingredient of the charcoal seasoning which is just one of many ingredients that make up the seasoning.  We are working with the supplier of that ingredient as well as the company that produced the nutritional label to be able to tell people exactly how small of an amount is in the serving size.  Not to mention we are working on securing a different supplier that does not have the MSG at all, but that all takes time. What I can tell you for a fact is we have had many MSG intolerant customers tell us that consuming Tatonka Dust seasoning does not affect them, they experience no symptoms that they do with other products containing MSG because it is such a trace amount.

That is definitely some awesome stuff.  I order it in quantity so the shipping isn't so bad.  I go through it rapidly in the summer.

I agree it's great! Next order I'll crack the whip, I mean ask for a bigger container!

Can Tatonka Dust be used as a rub on pork loin ribs?

Yes, I and others have done it chicken as well! I added a little turbinado sugar with it when I did it and have read about others going 50/50 Tatonka Dust and sugar not sure what type they used.

I ordered some Tatonka Dust thanks to this post, and I have to say when I first opened it up I was skeptical due to its color, and the fact that I couldn't quite decide whether I liked the smell, or maybe just that I couldn't figure out what the smell was made up of. BUT, now I have since put some on a chuck roast I did in the oven, some burgers, a bison ribeye steak, and best of all the following delicious Brisket, and WOW, the stuff is worth its weight in gold! I love it, and I especially love that on long cooks and roasts like the roast and brisket it created a really nice looking very dark "burnt" looking bark. Just tasty and beautiful! Thanks for the recommendations guys!

Thanks b-one,
I'm going to try it tomorrow on some pork loin baby backs using mesquite-alder blend pellets and the 5-0-0 (unwrapped method).

Good to know. I ordered some a while back but thought it looked like charcoal dust. I'll try it out one of these days per your post.[emoji]128512[/emoji]
