Newbie from Orlando, FL

Hey there fellow smokers, I'm new to this great way of cooking. Have tired smoking ribs on my grill but looking for a better experience with my new Masterbuilt Electric 40" with remote. (I'm a bit anxious waiting for the delivery truck today!)

I've been trolling the forums for a few weeks getting educated on smokers before making my purchase. Living in Orlando, Florida gives me easy year - round weather to take advantage of doing many, many smokes! I already have a 'london broil' marinating while I wait to assemble and season my new unit! 

Cheers to some "clean plates" off the table soon.

In Leicester England. I just got a Weber Smokey mountain, it's to replace a thing I had that didn't work for anything but getting rid of charcoal!

We're glad to have you. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here 😁)

Thanks Ryan - my posts will start today in the main forum - just got my new MES40 yesterday - needless to say I finished dinner and was unpacking, assembling the few items on the bottom and setting the racks, etc in place. I wiped it down with a damp cloth and sprayed the inside with a very light coat of "Pam Olive Oil". Set the temp to 275 and time for 3 hours. Her seasoning was ON! With 45 minutes left I put in one cup of soaked mesquete chips and opened the top vent totally - she smoked for the entire 45 minutes. Today is clean up and get ready for my first smoke in her. Got a 2# London Broil marinating. Not sure how long to smoke it - I like my steaks between medium rare and medium.
I'm also making some blue cheese butter to sprinkle on the sliced meat with some scallions and serving with a salad from the garden and some broccoli. The Cabernet is chilling!
