Hi All

Based in England and am a true carnivore so always fancied some smoking, i had a look at buying an off-the-shelf smoker and "almost" got one those cheap and cheerful offset ones for about £100 off ebay, until i read many forums and blogs saying to avoid them, and instead build a Ugly Drum Smoker.. "Build a What?!" i thought to myself.

Anyway only about ten days later and i am half way into my UDS build, bought the Big Poppa UDS kit (amazingly available here in England!) as frankly even though it cost more i figured it quicker and easier than hunting for all the right parts and working out measurements etc, so yea lazy and bought a kit..oops

Anyway, ill start a different topic for the UDS build, sure ill have plenty of other questions soon!

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  Many good folks here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  Couple other good threads to help you get started included.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Danny
