120 Gallon Trailer Build - Page 2

Here is a quick sketch... Hopefully it makes sense. The firebox opening is an irregular shape with a small lip at the bottom to prevent anything running into the firebox.

The lid cooking chamber door actually is not bad at all. I extended the handle past the left side to make it easy to reach. You can lift it easily with one arm.

The reverse flow plate extends into the firebox so the cutout is right at the top.

What size is your firebox I have 24"x24" think that is fine?

Just seen your size of the box sorry

Very nice build. I am starting a very similar 137gal trailer build and will be using knowledge from this thread on mine. Great work!

Do you think using a 3/8 plate for the revese flow will work ok
post #27 of 35
3/8" will work, but in my opinion it is too thick. It will take longer for the pit to come up to a stabile temp and the thicker metal dampens out some of the radiant heating effect. 1/4" is ideal, 5/16 and 3/16" are OK.

BTW, King8834 you should consider moving your build thread over to this section where you will get more feedback.

md,

Good looking build. You'll get it figured out as you cook and gain experience. Take good notes. I'll be watching, curious on how well that PID works out.

Keep on smokin'
