I am planning on building a smoke 1m wide x 2m high from 1/8 steel plate and box section.

I was wondering if it is worth buying a Gas Smoker Heating Assembly from TSM ( http://www.sausagemaker.com/49900gassmokerheatingassembly.aspx ).

To be honest I dont know anything about gas. If possible, could someone please explain what the parts are and if it is better to look around and buy the parts separately?

It appears that unit has all the safety equipment.... It's AGA approved... It sounds as if your smoker is the size they recommend for that burner assembly...

The unit is a good choice... Safe, tested for your size smoker.... I'd go for it....

When building a gas fired smoke house.... SAFETY should be the #1 priority.... and that's what you are demonstrating by getting an AGA Approved unit...

It just seems a lot of money. Does anyone know of a different company that sells these things or would I be better to buy the parts 1 by 1?
