So what are your reviews of this digital thermometer?

From what I've read, its great, but range is pretty limited if you need to monitor your smoker at larger distances (more than 45 feet).

texas.gif  Good evening and welcome to the forum, from a cool and wet day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Welcome! There are several threads here in the iGrill. I have owned the original iGrill, and the iGrill2 and have no complaints. IGrill has a wifi therm in the works...

I have a igrill mini. Let's just say it's a pain in the ass to sync it to my iPhone but once it's on I love it!! The range is limited but it's not a lot of $

I have the IG2, works fine for me !

Good to hear they work, it's on my father's day hint list.

Spend some time reading the reviews. From what I hear they work pretty good. If you will post your questions in the general area more people will see them.

Happy smoken.

It's not out yet. Sounds like it will be around $200.00

Ouch.  They'll probably come down in price in a year or 2.  Would be a great gizmo to have, and the range will be better.

I'll definitely wait for the wifi version, the longer range would facilitate raiding the neighbor's beer fridge while I keep an eye on dinner.

RF > wifi, but a large margin.  Remote access over the net though is really nice for seeing how often the wife opens the smoker door haha.

Depends on the rf. Also depends on how they integrate wifi. If the device connects to your home network the range is anywhere your phone can connect to the home wifi. Potentially more if there is a cloud based service or you can do some port forwarding on the router.

If the phone connects directly to the unit and the house wifi isn't part of the equation then the range is limited, but I would still expect direct wifi to be longer range than Bluetooth.
