Hi there I'm Pete a 41 year old dairy farm manager from Taranaki, New Zealand My wife and I run a 360 cows farm for a multi farm company that milks 1800 jersey cows, sells and leases breeding bulls of different breeds as well as rearing all replacement stock. While not off a farm I grew up in a farming community where I enjoyed clay target shooting, game bird and small game hunting. I also grew up with what you hunt you should use. Common meals were things like roast duck or pheasant, rabbit pie or hare in a red wine casserole. For many years I stopped shooting (life got in the way) but this year have managed to get the duck shooting rights to 4 of the dairy farms for the upcoming season as well as a mob of up to 700 Canadian geese (if I can get near them) following the cows around cleaning up the left over maize silage The catch is my wife (who I love dearly) while also from a small rural town did not grow up in a hunting family has told me in no uncertain terms that I am not cooking game in her kitchen :rules: So here's were you guys come in I'm looking for ways to cook/cure game meat that doesn't go in "she who is in charges" oven I'm a complete noob at this and looking to start real basic as the budget isn't that great but I'm a bit of a sheddie so we can do anything!
