which smoker?

Just wondering if anyone is cooking on the short sniper made by Pit Maker in Houston.  If you do, how do you like it?  Is is better than cooking on traditional offset pipe smoker?  Seeking input as I am trying to decide which way to go and buying this smoker is like getting married, it's got to last as I am only getting to do this once, according to my wife.

Never known anyone who uses this smoker.

If you get it put some pictures up and let us know how it works.

If SWMBO says only one, I would do diligent research before the purchase. We will help you as much as we can.

Um, wow. I just looked this up

That is quite an investment for a smoker if your not doing competition circuits. Stainless steel should last darn near forever. Read some of your other posts. Seems like overkill for just ribs and briskets. But if you smoke for church groups occasionaly, well I don't know how big those groups are.....

This is the first I have heard of this particular smoker, and company. Not really sure what else to say.

I agree with the rest of the comments. That's one nice smoker for the back yard. One thing I liked about it, was the size. I cook and smoke whole pigs, but the biggest one I can get going is about 40 pounds. That smoker should hold a 50 - 60 pound pig. If my wife let me spend that much I would buy is in a minute. It looks like it will last a long time. Storage would be a problem for me.

Well, I ordered the short sniper from Pitmaker yesterday and it was going to be the end of May before it would be ready. They called me back yesterday afternoon and said they actually had 1 left from the previous batch. Picked it up, chicken tonight. Ribs tomorrow night. Seasoned it up last night and this thing is AWESOME! I'm not used to seeing the temp stay put over the course of an hour or longer and so far this smoker is doing great. Thanks Pitmaker! Insulated stainless doors are great

Went from NY to  Houston to visit  Pitmaker.  They have an amazing operation.  All by hand, total quality.  Been smoking for a long time. I bought the vault, seemed to fit my needs the best.  All their pits are great.  Used the vault for the past 3 weeks.  Chicken, ribs, short ribs sausage. . .  all great.  IMG_0043.JPG
