My gas grill is rusting out.  I already have a masterbuilt electric smoker, but thought I would see if anyone has any suggestions on a charcoal smoker that could also double as a grill?

You can get a 22.5" Weber Smokey Mountain and a 22.5" Weber Kettle for a great combo. You can sort of grill on the WSM if you pull the water pan out, but it's very hard to do mid smoke. Easier to just toss a chimney of charcoal in the Kettle and go from there. Both have a small footprint so they don't take up to much space..... and both work great!

I'll second that! If you mostly do small cooks the 14" WSM or a home built mini-wsm are perfect. We use ours at home and pack it all over with us camping.
