Congrats on your decision! I don't think you'll be sorry...those GMG are great rigs. I always refer new GMG owners to Justin (WaterinHoleBrew) for advice on their pits. He's owned a Daniel Boone for a while now and is always willing to help a brother out.

Good luck with the new rig, and be sure to show it off this weekend with some qview of your first cook! Thumbs Up

Awesome! I just picked up the non wifi version today! Can't wait to get home and put it together.  Trying to figure out what my first meal on it will be!

I called about buying a non-wifi model and they have a truck coming in on Thursday but all of the Daniel Boone models on the truck have wifi so they cut me a deal on it. Im just hoping they stick to that on Thursday. I have a brisket I am going to cook on Saturday night but not sure what to cook Friday maybe a couple of beer can chickens!

Yeah I would have preferred to have the wifi option but it wasn't worth an additional 160 to me.  I think it is very cool and I would use it. But more often than not my cooking will be 1 temp for 5+ hours.

I have been using the igrill2 to keep an eye on the temp works great for me. The app alerts you when your meat is within 10 degrees then again when you hit your set temp. I paid $99 but have seen them less on occasion and really elevated my cooking IMHO.

I bought a Maverick ET-733 to use instead. I figure it is more versatile and I can still monitor temps.
