Heading to the beach for some fishing and I always take hot wings so I fired up the Mini-ZA with KBB and 3 chunks of Kiawe wood.

Thought about smoking this guy I caught this morning chomping and a Manzanita plant at my moms!

They sure smell great! Kiawe wood smells so good I want to eat the smoke coming out of the smoker!!!

There are guys here who will smoke with nothing else!!! I offered three guys at work cut guava and ohia and they all passed.

We had a wind storm a few weeks back and three kiawe trees were blown over out by my work. I'll be packing my chainsaw to get some logs...
 
Mmmmmmmmm!!!! So Good! I sampled a few just to make sure they were up to standards and let me tell you, they are FANTASTIC!

Kiawe is from the Hawaiian Islands, well and some other Pacific islands too. Used when making Huli Huli chicken. It's has a nice mild flavor that goes great with chicken, beef, pork, cheese, yeah everything! It also mixes well with cherry wood.

No salmon fishing yet the season opens end of May. Currently fishing for bottom fish. Sea bass, Lingcod, etc.
