Thank you sir finally  coming together ready to see some smoke

Lookin good! What type of wood did you use? (I hate it when people ask questions already answered but I looked through this thread 2 times and couldn't find that piece of info)

No Problem, it was all cedar wood, coated with linseed oil.

Well here is the finished product for the moment.  The fire box does do the trick but I kinda have to babysit it a little.  I think the box is a little to small.  The house itself does draw very good with the side vent.  I will post some qview at another time.  But here it is.

Beautiful.  Will you have an external firebox or will you put the fire in the base with some kind of dampener?

Great photos.

Thanks, I will keep the box external, just brainstorming different ideas.

I'm sorry if you've already explained this. Can you please explain the cinder block box on the right and the black drum and pipe on left?
I would guess the drum is your fire box. Then what is the cinder block box?

I'm planning s build so I am aping a lot of questions on many threads
Thanks

You are right that is the fire box, and I just made a grill out of the cinder blocks next to the smoker, there are two pieces of expanded metal in the blocks for the grill grates.

AHH!  So the cinder blocks make up a totally separate grill unrelated to the smoker.  That makes sense.  Cool idea too!

Thanks for the reply.

Nice job!
