For some reason I cannot seem to get my smoker over 215 today. Would there be and ill effects if I were to foil it and throw it in the oven to finish? I have had it in the smoker for 5 hours now. I have never tried this before and dont want to mess up 2 shoulders. Thanks

Joe

Yes by all means finish it in the oven.  You are bumping into the four hour rule so get it in the oven at about 350 and finish it off.   Any idea why your smoker won't come it to temp?

Too cold outside and it has been giving me crap lately. should I foil it and set the oven to 350? that seems kinda high.

Joe

Once you foil it, the meat won't know if it's in the oven or in the smoker, so either is fine.

I would use 250° but others use a higher temp.

Any idea what the internal temp was at 4 hours??  5 hours??
