new RF 38" x 60" build = on a budget - Page 3

Just joined SMF and read your thread. Love it! I am starting a build now and the parts in here about getting grate temps similar never crossed my mind. I was happy to rotate meat.

You say your friend told you to split the bottom grates? Just for ease of pulling lots of meat on them out?

Also thought your door pusher was a good idea, ours will be a 36" diameter cook chamber with 3/8" wall. Its gunna suck lifting 3' over my head.

Hope your cooker brings lots of good times!!

thx Canuck76,  The only reason I was told to split the bottom grate was ease of getting it out for cleaning or mods. I made my top shelf support to the from removable so I can get the one pc grate out if needed. The helping hand works good- I need to make it look like a grill brush or spatula hanging on the door..... good luck  and just ask lots of questions. everyone was very helpful  when I needed answers.
