What's the best wood for chicken?

Whatever you have on hand. If you don't like it, try another kind. Asking what flavor you'll like best is kind of like asking someone what your favorite color should be don't you think?
I personally like pecan best. Unless I'm in the mood for cherry. Or if I happen to only have apple on hand....

Hello.  Welcome.  I see this is your first post.  Please take some time and swing over to Roll Call and introduce yourself so that we may give you a proper "Hello".  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  As for your question: MD has you covered.  You will just need to experiment.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Chicken takes on smoke pretty quick, use whatever flavor you like but sparingly

Personally I like cherry but can't always get it, hickory too but also sometimes hard to get, in Florida oak is always plentiful, like was stated try what you have, try others but like Gary said chicken takes on smoke and flavor pretty quick, remember it is fun to try different rubs, sauces and wood, find the combo you like, one thing I try to do is try one thing different at a time, I try not to change multiple things, this way you know which changes are good for you

Chicken is going to be a pretty quick smoke, if you have an Academy, Lowe's, Home Depot, Wally World go pick up a bag or two of different chucks and try them out.
