Hey everyone, just signed up and liking what I see so far. I found this site while looking for plans or inspiration or maybe a little bit of both for building a smoker from an old refrigerator. I definitely found more than I expected when I found "Reefer Madness". If you don't know what I'm talking about just do a search for it. That smoker is a work of art. All I could do was sit here drooling and wonder why anyone would want to buy a smoker when you could make something that beautiful.

Anyway, not much to tell about myself. I'm a forty-six year old truck driver for the past nineteen years and I absolutely love BBQ. Driving a truck I've had the opportunity to travel the country (USA) and try BBQ from many, many places. While some was great and some was good, I've also had the unfortunate experience of getting the bad. Some so bad that laws should've immediately been enacted to prevent that from ever being called BBQ again.

My favorite BBQ of all the places I've ever been is Texas BBQ. Being from North Carolina we primarily do BBQ pork and we do a mighty fine job of it, even if I do say so myself, but when I want BBQ beef I head to Texas...Mmm-Mmm.

Well, now I start my search for the perfect old refrigerator...cheap! I really like the old globe and monitor tops so for now that is what I'm going to look for. Wish me luck!

Welcome to the board! Come on, tell us about some of the bad Q you've seen...

I got to travel on business in the south and East and I loved checking out the regional foods.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...

I to traveled for a living for 23 years. I was working in Memphis for Mempis in May a few

times. Kansas City during the cook off and up north for a few. I found it to be like a fine wine,

It is all good.

Happy smoken.
