New to using a smoker

Thread Starter
My name is Robyn, my husband John and I live in northeast WA state. We have a farm, raising commercial beef cattle, hay and we both have full time jobs off the farm. He bought me the Oklahoma Joes Highland off set smoker. I love to cook and bake but I have never used a smoker. Looking forward to experimenting and learning the "art" of smoking meat and fish.

Welcome to the board! Use the Search to look up your smoker and see how people use them.

Offsets are a lot of fun to play with.

Welcome to the forum Robyn.  The search bar at the top of the page is a great resource.  Have a question or a problem?  Need a recipe?  Simply search for the answer.  Feel free to post any questions you may have and a resident expert will be along directly to assist.  Do not worry if you receive different answers to your questions as there is more than one way to great Q.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.
