I live in Central Ohio, and recently purchased a Pellet - pro CPG 629 from Smoke Daddy, Inc. I am planning on seasoning the smoker this weekend, does anyone have advice in terms of what kind of cooking spray/oil I should use? Thanks!

sloopyhangon,
Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it.

Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

IMHO the type of oil or spray you use to season your smoker realy does'nt matter, when I did mine I used the cheaper store branded spray{Kroger} I think. You don't need a lot of oil just a good light coating on everthing!

Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!

First - Congrats on the smoker  You can use just about any type food safe oil. Any of the spray cooking oils will work fine, Or you can go overboard like me and mix bacon grease with cooking oil, put in a spray bottle and spray the entire cooking chamber and grates
