My wife got this shoulder a couple weeks ago on the cheap. I never buy Kroger but I will make it work.

230-240 on mini over cherry for about 12 hrs. Taking to 205. I will do this on my mini.

Well I didn't feel like getting no sleep so it's on as of 8:30 this morning. I will see how it goes. I will probably end up eating the pulled chuckie from last night.

What I would do, let it get 6 -7 hours smoke, wrap it back on, and don't even check it again for at least another 4 -5 you might get lucky.

I usually put mine on about 5:30 - 6:00  if I am wanting to eat around 6:00  and keep my fingers crossed  sometimes it done early, right on time or I'm eating later   The main key is  constant temperature (I smoke at 225 º)   and keeping the lid closed.

Good Luck

Thanks Gary I might give that a try. I will see what temp is like around 1 or 2 pm. If I am way far away I will throw the chuckie in the crockpot.

Finally got cook temp to settle though.

Just stuck probe in - seems high but will run with it.

Been in 5.5 and developing nice bark. Work is cancelled for tomorrow so gonna watch the game and enjoy pork and brews.
