I had a thread in the for new members section as well. I'm Dale and I like boating, fishing, drinking beer, swimming in the ocean while drinking beer, grilling, having some beers, and sleeping. New to smoking but not to eating BBQ. My favorite place is the keys where my boat sleeps. Try to go once a month. Love the forums and have already learned a lot.

Welcome to SMF bigd3077.  Glad you're here and learning lots.  Successful smokes is what it is all about.

Have fun in those beautiful turquoise waters with all the toys!
thanks! My dad just bought a smoker down there so hopefully I'll be there in a week or two

Thanks for the welcome Gary. It has been chilly here by my standards, warming up for the weekend though. I have been dying to smoke again, but this weekend I don't think I'll have time.

Thank you. I am hooked for sure. I have family in Vero Beach Florida and my uncle does a hell of a brisket in his home made smoker. I have been sucking up so much information here. My first smoke was good, but there is room for improvement. I think the biggest mistake I made was I didn't drink beer and stare at it the whole time. I'll try that method next! I also need to get a thermometer. Looking good at the Maverick 733

Hadn't seen one of those in a long time   Nice

I didn't realize what I had at the time but in 1974 I had a 69 nova that came with a 396 from the factory, found out later on after I had already gotten rid of it That there weren't many of those made

Oh Well ------
