Is there a need to baste or spray a Boston Butt in the smoker? And if so what suggestions do you guys have?? Thanks for the help
Need more info what type smoker do you have what temp you plan on cooking??
If you can get them to 200* F they will pull nicely, spritzing is a personal choice as is foiling.
There is not really a need. There is some much fat in the butt that it will keep moist on its own. Also, with a large chunk of meat, spraying the outside will not really change the meat itself. All basting or spraying will do is change the texture of the surface. So if you prefer a soft outside instead of bark then spray away.
Everyone has there own methods for butts and they all work. It is simply a matter of picking what works for you.
