Saint Clair Shores Michigan
Hello everyone,

I just started smoking a couple of months ago after a buddy convinced me to buy a Landmann GOSM vertical smoker. I live in St. Clair Shores MI just a stones throw from Detroit. I have thus far smoked a couple beer can chickens and one pork picnic. The chickens came out great but had rubbery skin. The picnic took forever to cook through but was delicious. I am learning quickly but have visited the site often recently for tips on how to improve my skills.I was coming on here so much I decided to join. Glad to be part of the community. Happy smoking to everyone.

Jason

Welcome to the site Jason.  Sounds like your off to a good start.  The chicken skin needs a high temp cook or sear to crisp up.  Those big hunks of pork will make you think that time has stopped.

I lived for a couple years in St. Clair but I was too young to remember much of it.
