I have newly discovered this forum and am quite impressed with all the helpful advice. The members should be very proud of themselves for caring enough to take the time and effort helping everyone with their questions. I am a slightly experienced smoke person. My efforts are usually making various types of deer sausage and spending sleepless nights endeavoring not to ruin that deer sausage while smoking it. I have a converted old fridge that has been in use for a few years. It is an ongoing project and certainly nothing fancy. Every time that I use it this overwhelming desire to improve it seems to take hold. (Might be sleep deprivation) This year's project is to possibly add a PID controller. This might be of interest to some because my smoker is propane fired with a furnace valve and electronic ignition. After browsing through the fridge conversions threads, most members are heating with electric elements or pellets. They are probably all smarter than me. I will start a new thread on the fridge conversion forum and ask for ideas on how to improve my wayward smoker. I am happy to be here and this will be fun.

We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
