Hi

We got this used older vertical propane Brinkman and it's are first smoker. Not sure of some of the parts. Please forgive me for we are new to smoking.

There is a base with legs that hold the burner and it has a pan of sorts about 5" deep that sets into the leg assembly. This has some holes in the bottom. Not sure if they have been added. Then there is another pan which fits inside of this one and has slits on the bottom in a circular pattern. This pan reaches down to within an inch of the bottom of the first pan.

I believe I understand the rest of the unit but not sure of how these parts are used.

Thanks for the help.

Hello Ken and welcome.  I don't have that smoker but maybe my "bump" will get you some help.  PICTURES! Ken.  Pictures are always a good thing.  Good luck.  I'm sure someone will be along and help.  Keep Smokin!
