Hello there from flyover country here in rural Kanas, as you can see I made a profile over a year ago. I had just bought a new oklahoma joe and was trying it out for the first time. I had my laptop out in the camper by the house so I was looking some stuff up and came upon this site. I bookmarked it and come here often and also get the daily newsletter. My job has just kept me so busy I 'm just now going to get more cooking going. I'm almost 59 so it was many years ago I mutilated my first piece of meat on a smoker. I've gone through lots of grills/smokers in my time. I currently have my Ok Joe and I've pretty much gotten to where I only like doing charcoal in my brinkman kettle grills. I do have an electric big easy too which is great for turkey breasts. I also have my "Texas grill" I call it. Just an open pit that turns into a fire pit once the cooking is done. I'll try to be a more active participant from now on.

Here's a picture from the maiden voyage on the Ok Joe

And here's the Texas Grill, it's great for fajitas, wings etc
