Port Huron Here...........the weather has been cold but i got my first smoke in and now im hooked stuffed chicken breasts wrapped with bacon and bunnions and it was the best ,that was last sunday so now this sunday im doing pulled pork ,ribs and im thinking smoked mac and cheese.......funny i hate getting up for work but no trouble getting up for a big pork butttt....lol

Hello Troll and welcome to the Michigan group from Lansing. Sounds like a good menu for Sunday. The pulled pork will take a hour to a hour1/2 per pound to smoke and with the cold probably longer. You might try to insulate your smoker some with a welding blanket or equivalent.
I wrapped one of mine with that sliver bubble wrap insulation and it makes a big difference in how long the element is on. Good luck and please take Q-view for us.

What a time to break in a smoker!
You are tuff! I'm a sissy and not afraid to admit it. I don't go outside unless forced to, in winter.
Same reason I don't ice fish. By the time I get a hole chopped big enough to put the boat in, it dark already! And you can't troll for fish without a chainsaw mounted on a snowmobile, And even then, you still troll too fast to catch fish! LOL
Happy smoking, and if you can make to one of the smoking get together's the Michigan Groups off and on, do so. It's worth the drive from anywhere, just to visit, learn, and plain have fun. It like a family reunion day, except you'll like all of these people. LOL

At the cheese smoke we will be making noise and drinking a little and snacking a little and smoking some. Mostly talking and laughing. At the gathering there will be all kinds of good eating from different smokers and lots of fun. Many more people and kids running around. You know just a party with BBQ.

I hear ya hillbilly! June 11th is my 10 year anniversary as well. However we are planning a big trip for next winter to celebrate so I think I'm good with the wife for this years summer gathering. The cheese gethering is not looking good though.
