Hello Troll and welcome to the Michigan group from Lansing.  Sounds like a good menu for Sunday.  The pulled pork will take a hour to a hour1/2 per pound to smoke and with the cold probably longer.  You might try to insulate your smoker some with a welding blanket or equivalent.

I wrapped one of  mine with that sliver bubble wrap insulation and it makes a big difference in how long the element is on.  Good luck and please take Q-view for us.

Welcome to our new friend from the thumb!   thetroll41.

What a time to break in a smoker!

You are tuff!  I'm a sissy and not afraid to admit it.  I don't go outside unless forced to, in winter.

Same reason I don't ice fish.  By the time I get a hole chopped big enough to put the boat in, it dark already!  And you can't troll for fish without a chainsaw mounted on a snowmobile,  And even then, you still troll too fast to catch fish!  LOL

Happy smoking, and if you can make to one of the smoking get together's the Michigan Groups off and on, do so.  It's worth the drive from anywhere, just to visit, learn, and plain have fun.  It like a family reunion day, except you'll like all of these people.  LOL

I got w nice new table for my smoker to improve the ease of use for Christmas, but it has been too cold and snowy for me to try it out yet.

Hello Ginger, The next cheese smoke will be at Kingfishcam's house by Fowlerville...http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/176561/february-michigan-cheese-smoke

The next gathering will be at hillbillyrkstr's also by Fowlerville...http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/176033/the-2015-third-annual-michigan-get-together-june-6th-7th

At the cheese smoke we will be making noise and drinking a little and snacking a little and smoking some.  Mostly talking and laughing.  At the gathering there will be all kinds of good eating from different smokers and lots of fun.  Many more people and kids running around.  You know just a party with BBQ.

If you would like to join in please PM me and I can give you directions.

Hello and welcome. June 6th is the 3rd annual Michigan Smokers Group gathering (and my 10th wedding anniversary. Wife is loving this planning). You and your family are welcome to join us. We have room to camp if needed and there are hotels within 20 minutes of The Way Out Here Ranch (my place).

This is where fowlerville is:

We are hoping I get our biggest turn out this year so please put it on your calendar. You are welcome to bring a smoker and smoke something or bring some meat and throw it on someone else's smoker. Or just bring a large side dish.

We also have a fattie contest so start practicing your unique fatties now.

I hear ya hillbilly! June 11th is my 10 year anniversary as well. However we are planning a big trip for next winter to celebrate so I think I'm good with the wife for this years summer gathering. The cheese gethering is not looking good though. :th_crybaby2:

Congrats dinger! 10 4 on the cheese smoke. It's a small event compared to the Summer smoke anyhow so it's no big deal.
