i figured that, timber. moist was talking 250.  i just haven't had results i like with higher temps, so i thot he might like to try a lower temp to see what happens.

i suppose some things are better with high heat but i haven't found them. someone mentioned to me he likes 250 n up because it saves time

i'm not in a hurry. i find the process fun, tho i'll leave grilling to you boys.. .

How long do you dry out your wood you find? I was given some apple tree branches but I was told to leave it for 6 months or so to dry out

Now that does depend on if they were dead when they came down. I keep a pile in my driveway on the gravel and it cooks dry pretty fast. that is if the sun were ever to come out. It is foggy here for months at a time. Yes, as a general rule wood needs to season but smaller branches can season up pretty quick with the right weather conditions. If you have a covered area or a heated garage you can speed up the process a bit. If you cut it up and spread the pieces out you might get em dry faster too.

I have one example in my head suze and that is flank steak. Hot and fast there. After cold smoking of course. Hahaha...

I'm sure that pellet grill get's hot enough for steak. I 'm not sure the exact temp. I am so dang addicted to low and slow I can't hardly remember the last time I grilled anything.
