Greetings from South Detroit.

Yippers, Journey got it wrong. South Detroit is really Windsor Ontario Canada, my humble home.

Blame Ronnie's in Johnson City Texas for my smoking addiction. Best Bbq I've ever tasted. I do southern road trips to shake the winter chills, with a mandate to take in as many small towns as possible, avoiding interstates etc. As of today, his Bbq rises above anything else for me but I'm always looking to up the ante, so to speak.

I bought a Vision kamato (egg style) grill a couple years ago and haven't looked back. It's perfect for a single guy like me and super efficient.

I tend to go on benders where I try to perfect one thing at a time, yet I still experiment a lot. I started with chicken, then pork, turkey and now brisket. Luckily, the results are getting a lot of attention among my friends.

I'd like to do another southern road trip in the next month or 2. Feel free to suggest good Bbq joints but I'd be even happier to find places where I can learn, such as competitions etc. I'm willing to listen to anything.

Thanks for having me aboard.
