I recently upgraded from a Big Easy Electric Smoker to the MES and smoked my first pork butt.  The MES worked great.

The butt was 8.5 pounds but I decided to cut it in half since it was my first attempt.  I smoked it for 6 hours at 235, then wrapped it in foil and put it in the oven to get the IT to 203 (oven was more convenient and it was getting late).  The end result was perfect.  The wife and I love pulled pork.  We ate half and froze the other half for quick meals.

I did a lot of reading on the forums here to find out the right times and temperatures, so thanks everyone!

Also, I am now going to be on the lookout for good meat sales.  I got the pork butt for $1.99 a pound.  If anyone has any other "cheap" meat recommendations, let me know.  I haven't been able to find a good deal on brisket yet.
