Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
Hello All,

It was suggested that I introduce myself since I am brand new to the forum so here goes.

My name's Ben and I live on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.  I currently raise my own pigs, goats, rabbits and chickens for meat, but have not gotten into the smoking and curing of them myself quite yet.  I do smoke quite a bit of salmon throughout the summer but want to expand more into sausage and hams as well.  I have plans to build myself a hybrid cold/hot smoker this summer and possibly a walk in cooler for aging meat.

I'm sure I'll be getting to know quite a few of you throughout the coming months.  Thanks in advance for all of the help and answers to newbie questions I'll most likely have.

Ben

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a windy and cold day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Hey Ben, post some pictures of your place

Gary

No pics of my place but here are some of the area.

My girl with a nice haul out of the front yard

Some good eats from this fall

Another shot of the lake.

Not the greatest but the best I've got access to at the moment.  I'll start a new thread when I start my smoker build.  I'm planning on doing it this time home from work.
