Ok, so almost a year after visiting Texas, the missus finally relented and got me a smoker. The fella who made it, to be honest, made a bit of a botch job. Perhaps you guys might be able to confirm this!
I have uploaded pic after I had a few too many! But I can upload closer up pics.
On the larger drum, does the opening need to be sealed with a heat proof rubber or is it ok to have a small gap there?
Im also looking to use gas to heat the wood keep everything consistent.
Just below the tube connecting the 2 drums to the left is a small hole, I was thinking of putting a gas tube through it and using a gas pipe burner to keep a constant source going through. Something like this?
I would also be very curious to see what the more experienced of you would do
