Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it.

Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

Here is a link to the charcoal section of the forum:httphttp://www.smokingmeatforums.com/f/108/charcoal-smokers
Lots of good info there no both of the ones you are looking at.

Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
Keep Smokin!!!

texas.gif  Good evening and welcome to the forum, from another cloudy, rainy and cold day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Welcome neighbor!  Glad you're here!  I was beginning to think I was the only Rosevillian on the Forum, though there are lots of folks from SAC.

I considered a stick burner too until I checked the prices of cooking wood.  Decided on charcoal with wood chunks instead.  If the 300-500 year old valley oak in my backyard ever decides to give up the ghost, I'll have all the wood I can use.  Until then the trimmings are a nice charcoal supplement for wood smoke.

Have fun with your smoker search!
